Sidewinders Banquet 09

Wanted to show off my new award . Went to Sidewinders Banquet saturday night. Top notch, a good time was had by all. Great food and they played neat old lakes movies all night that included the Gyronaught X-1, Devils Arrow and Burt Monroe. (Bought the DVD!) Sat with the Martin Boys. Held at the NHRA Museum in Pomona. Tons of great stuff there, go if you have not been. 

The Soundtrack

Music is a major part of my day, and is a driving force behind getting stuff done quickly and properly. I had to do some tanks tonight and The Dwarves were with me the whole way. He who shall not be named would be proud! Put on their album Horror Stories, and get to work.

I love this bike. Brian Chapman's Mighty Mouse. Blown Vincent Comet single. The worlds first eight second 500cc drag bike. Ran 8.96 at Santa Pod in 1977. Note how low this bike is, thats a 18" slick on the back.

Ordered my new fairing and windscreen today. This year I'm going to run in a partial streamlining class. Otherwise no big changes. 

How Much?

I wonder if this guy would have done this if knew eventually his motor would be worth 20 grand?? Anyways I always thought it was bitchin when drag racers ran that little aluminum strip around there rim for "trippin the light fantastic" if you know what I mean.. Im thinking of running one on both sides similar to a moon disc since my fender I built looks like an early indian fender and weighs at least 15 pounds. I will try soon
